Don’t you just love how fashion repeats itself? I can’t remember exactly when I started rocking velvet, but it’s definitely been awhile. As velvet made its come back last year on the runway, retailers began filling their stores with all sorts of velvet garments. My closet on the other hand, was already stocked with enough velvet pieces, from leggings and dresses to tops and chokers. I was well prepared to take full advantage of this trend.
Speaking of old trends, on this particular day I decided to throw on my mom jeans that I distressed myself to add some edge. I paired them with a blue crushed velvet long sleeve top, my black tuxedo peacoat and my black booties.
Excited to finally enjoy some Mexican food (my favorite) – I made my way to the Lower East Side, where I dined at Tacombi Fonda Nolita. Vintage folding chairs and tables filled the restaurant creating a very laid back atmosphere, along with huge windows lining the ceiling to allow natural lighting to enter the restaurant. However, the most attractive part of Tacombi was the huge food truck parked right in the middle of everything. What a dope spot!
